2020-21 ITC Leadership Webinar Series
Sponsored by the ITC Leadership Academy
ITC has a long history of supporting the growth and development of future leaders in the Distance Learning field and for over a decade, we have hosted a comprehensive Leadership Academy filled with challenge, reflection, and fun. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ITC was unable to host our annual Leadership Academy in Reno, NV. However, the need for leadership strategies in DL is greater now than ever! Therefore, ITC Board members and past Leadership Academy graduates will facilitate a five-part leadership webinar series which will culminate in a two-part session at the ITC Annual Conference in February 2021. We hope you can join us!

Leadership During a Crisis (ARCHIVED) Faculty: Fred Lokken, Derk Riechers Description: A crisis is defined as "a time of intense difficulty, trouble, or danger./a time when a difficult or important decision must be made." Certainly, the Covid-19 pandemic has represented a major crisis for our institutions in the past year, but we face a myriad of possible crises - everything from natural disasters to an active shooter. Our Distance Learning programs face crises as well - has anyone ever had their Learning Management System fail? Did that go well? The session will look at the role of leadership during a crisis - how do we prepare for a crisis? What leadership styles best manage a crisis AND what leadership styles just seem to make things worse? Finally, during this difficult time, it is important to capture the learning opportunities resulting from the current pandemic. As the saying goes, "never waste a good crisis!"
