The Instructional Technology Council, ITC, provides exceptional leadership and professional development to its network of eLearning experts by advocating, collaborating, researching, and sharing exemplary, innovative practices and potential in learning technologies.
An affiliated council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) established in 1977, ITC represents higher education institutions in the United States and Canada and is a leader in advancing distance education. ITC is constantly working to raise awareness about the benefits of distance learning, instructional telecommunications, and future needs and possibilities. ITC tracks federal legislation that will affect distance learning, conducts annual professional development meetings, supports research, and provides a forum for members to share expertise and material.
ITC membership runs on an annual cycle of July 1 - June 30.

Legislative & Public Policy/Updates
ITC will e-mail you about the latest news on national legislation that could affect your eLearning program. In 2015 ITC followed the statewide authorization for out-of-state distance education students, the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, funding for broadband connections, net neutrality, copyright issues, accreditation, student financial aid funding, and other hot topics. An advocate for distance learning with the American Association of Community Colleges, ITC informs legislators about the concerns of distance educators.

Professional Development Webinar Series - Free to Members
Reduce expenses—this is the best bargain in town! For these twice monthly presentations, ITC invites distance learning administrators and faculty to share their best practices, tips and challenges for teaching at a distance. We invite authors to share their latest distance learning research; copyright gurus and government officials to explain what you need to do; accreditation experts and grant administrators to inform you about timely, hot topics. The friendliest annual conference for eLearning practitioners. The eLearning Conference will offer eLearning administrators, eLearning faculty, instructional designers, online media specialists and web course developers a packed schedule that includes: pre-conference workshops, keynote speakers, vendors exhibiting the latest eLearning technologies and services, and nearly 60 one-hour concurrent sessions.
ITC Distance Education Leadership Academy
Twenty distance educators will work with Academy faculty at ITC's Distance Education Leadership Academy to create a sound leadership strategy, develop a model to fit their institution, identify and acquire key tools for successful distance learning leadership, and obtain a new network of fellow eLearning practitioners.
Library: Articles, Abstracts, and Research
ITC has created a searchable library or database of distance learning articles, abstracts, and research which are on the ITC website. Many resources are available to anyone who visits the ITC website, but ITC members should enter their login and password codes since their searches will result in additional articles, research, and information on distance education topics that were included in the ITC news e-mails.
