Active learning strategies are used to support student learning via their interactions with others and with the content that is being learned. The body of research is replete with examples of how active learning strategies can be incorporated into traditional, brick and mortar classrooms. However, with the growth of online learning in higher education, strategies must be used to support learner success in such environments.
