The Instructional Technology Council is strategically led by the Executive Officers, Board of Directors, and many dedicated and talented ITC members! Involvement in a committee offers the opportunity to participate in the strategic planning of the association's growth and direction, provides volunteers exceptional leadership and development roles, and naturally advances networking and connection opportunities within the industry!

Executive Finance Committee

Chair: Carol Spalding

The Finance and Executive Committee oversees ITC's financial health and operational sustainability. Responsibilities include monitoring the annual operating budget, reviewing event budgets, providing fiscal oversight for grants and partnerships, and recommending policies with financial implications. The committee ensures that ITC's resources are aligned with its strategic priorities and supports responsible investments that sustain the organization's mission.

Advocacy and Grants Committee

Chair: Fred Lokken | Co-Chair: Ian Coronado

The Advocacy and Grants Committee coordinates ITC's efforts to advance policies that support online learning, distance education, and educational technology. This includes collaborating with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) on legislative priorities, developing informational materials for ITC members, promoting public awareness of online learning policy issues, and helping ITC members become effective advocates for high-quality, accessible online education. The committee also explores grant opportunities to support ITC initiatives and member benefits.

Marketing and Communications Committee

Chair: Brooke Litten

The Marketing and Communications Committee supports ITC's efforts by developing and managing marketing materials, newsletters, campaigns, website content, and other outreach strategies that raise awareness of ITC programs, professional development opportunities, and resources for distance learning professionals.

Strategic Partnerships Committee

Chair: Nadine Edwards

Collaboration is essential to advancing innovation in online learning. The Strategic Partnerships Committee focuses on building relationships across higher education, technology, nonprofit, and private sectors to support ITC's mission. This includes engaging with colleges, edtech companies, associations, research organizations, and other stakeholders to identify collaborative projects, shared events, and partnership opportunities that enhance ITC's impact and support its members. This committee will lead the virtual EdTech Showcase and work closely with other committees to ensure mutually beneficial opportunities for ITC's partners.

Membership and Engagement Committee

Chair: Josie Milliken

The Membership and Engagement Committee is dedicated to enhancing the ITC member experience and strengthening connections within the distance education community. The committee leads initiatives to recruit new members, support onboarding, recognize member achievements through ITC's Awards program, find ways to include volunteers, and promote ongoing engagement. Expressed succinctly, its focus is on recruitment, retention, recognition, and resources. It works closely with other committees to develop programs, awards, and resources that provide tangible value to members and non-members.

Annual Conference and Events Committee

Chair: Matt Evins

The Annual Conference and Events Committee leads the planning and execution of ITC's flagship events, including its annual conference, Spring Summit, and special events. The committee focuses on delivering high-quality, engaging programming that reflects ITC's commitment to supporting online learning professionals. Responsibilities include developing event themes, coordinating logistics and event budgets, securing speakers, and evaluating event outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.

AI Affinity and Emerging Technologies Committee

Chair: Cynthia Krutsinger

The AI Affinity and Emerging Technologies Committee explores the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, instructional technology, and emerging tools that impact online teaching and learning. This group identifies trends, shares resources, and advises ITC on how to support members in navigating new technologies to enhance student success and instructional effectiveness. Members periodically contribute research and perspectives for publication to Community College Daily and takes lead on the Spring Summit focused on AI and/or Emerging Tech in eLearning collaborating with other associated committees to produce the event.

Leadership Academy Development Committee

Chair: Leslie Van Wolvelear

The Leadership Academy Development Committee plans, coordinates, and executes the annual Leadership Academy and coordinates alumni connections throughout the year. Special attention is given to cultivating faculty and mentors from the ITC Community through outreach and recruitment.
